The broom usually has a very pragmatic use but the act of sweeping can also be perceived as meditative. With the dancing brooms I wanted to enhance this meditative activity through the act of balance. Each of these brooms can be easily brought into balance due to their specially designed base. When brought into balance the appear like dancing and create a surreal atmosphere, almost as if they were alive. When in use their unusual shape requires a rethinking of the way a broom is usually used and a different kind of interaction.
