Masonry is a bench for the public space and was designed for the IBA`27 Festival in summer 2023. It is cast from geopolymers for which we resused old roof tiles and ashes from the Stuttgart castle garden as source material. The concept of environmentally friendly construction and the use of locally available materials is illustrated here in an architectural fragment and offers a glimpse into the possibilities of this material technology. The adaptive design draws inspiration from ancient polygonal masonry, employing flush adjacent individual volumes that stabilize each other.
