The ancient Egyptians and indigenous peoples of Bolivia are said to have already produced stones from plant extracts and natural minerals for the construction of their buildings. Forgotten for centuries, this technology is now being researched as a CO2-saving and sustainable alternative to concrete. In our ongoing project "In Fülle...Transformation zum Geopolymer, together with anima ona, I´m researching on the transformation of unexploited resources, such as construction waste, ashes, soil or industrial waste and test the production and application possibilities of the technology and its resulting material. For the exhibition at the Hospitalhof Stuttgart, we presented the first steps of our research, resulting into a collection of 100 different material mixtures with different aesthetic and functional properties, as well as it´s application possibilities ranging from painterly gestures to a usable seat on to architectural elements.
